Trees have always been a much-photographed topic of mine, especially tree lines, & looking into a wood from afar. Compositionally it is very pleasing, and it makes me wonder what is beyond the tree line, what is in the wood? The pictures below were taken on a recent walk in Richmond Park, we visit it often with our little Cavalier King Charles, Herbie, who adores it, as most dogs do. The textures and colours in Autumn are endlessly photogenic and take me back to the days when I would photograph close-up textures of anything and everything, hunting visual inspiration for my textile designs. The treeline pictured below has the visual benefit of white silver birch bark catching the light and the painterly stippling texture of the leaves, which I exaggerated in processing.
